Would you think that I
am a prolific gardener, even though
I have told you
repeatedly, that I
am not really a prolific
anything

words in my head,
is how I begin
as I will tell you, I am writing every day
and most often
on the
inside<\/p>\n\n\n\n

this morning I am once again
reading about gardens
and just how seemingly small efforts
can do much to affect
our environment
while outside the window, the sun is shining
the birds are peeping and cheeping
and the toads are loudly singing songs
of love

from where I sit, coffee in hand
I can see my tiny garden angel, who sits
arms wrapped around knees
chin resting
as she
quietly watches
the garden
unfold
and I think, this
is how
I
do<\/p>\n\n\n\n

when I go out, I first say good morning
to a tulip, casually laying her beautiful golden head
down along the path
then I check in at the big pond
and immediately apologize to the few toads
who have gathered
in what is currently a re-construction zone
as the big pond is gradually being
restored
no matter how I try to tell them, that this
may not be the spot for
procreation
they do insist on utilizing every drop of
rainfall that pools<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I then wander down to the back
say hello to the wren
and delight in the apple blossoms
check in with the trilliums
and trout lilies
look way up at my stately old cedars
and lament just a little
at their scruffy aging decline
yet do not fail
to tell them, just how much
they are admired
still

the day opens absolutely beautifully
and spring in the garden
really is to me
awe inspiring<\/p>\n\n\n\n

walking about,
only filling feeders
I am attempting
a resting \u2013 of sorts
after another taxing work day
for my hands
and even though I see lots of things
to be trimmed
and tidied
I am today, (as everyday)
here
merely
to observe<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and to speak words of love
to all
that I
encounter<\/p>\n\n\n\n

when I have returned to my chair,
to do a bit of actual writing
I notice,
through the window, I can no longer see
that tiny angel, view obscured
as in that short time, in this
beautiful sunshine
a gorgeous fern frond
has
unfurled<\/p>\n\n\n\n

… this, my friends
is not
nothing<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and
wouldn\u2019t it have been a real shame

to have missed
it \u2665<\/p>\n\n\n\n
