{"id":5126,"date":"2025-06-21T16:25:23","date_gmt":"2025-06-21T20:25:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tamara.tedzplace.ca\/?p=5126"},"modified":"2025-06-21T16:25:23","modified_gmt":"2025-06-21T20:25:23","slug":"and-in-the-clouds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tamara.tedzplace.ca\/?p=5126","title":{"rendered":"and in the clouds&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This morning early,<br>I take a deep breath in, as I stand<br>gazing at the glistening clear water<br>of the big pond<br>now pretty much, fully restored<br>each time I stand here<br>it soothes me so<br>six small lily pads have made it to<br>the surface<br>I keep a close eye, wishfully waiting<br>on a flower<br>I come each day to watch, to<br>witness<br>easily thousands of tadpoles inhabit<br>and fish, of course<br>I watch the lily pads slowly expanding and<br>wait as well for the first sight of<br>dragonfly larvae<br>so happy to have the pond thriving again<br>it brings so much life back<br>to<br>the garden<br>but also a calm, a certain quiet<br>a stillness<br>the water, like glass, has one watch closely<br>almost bated breath<br>notice each slight<br>ripple of movement<br>it\u2019s a<br>decompression of sorts,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>the toads, I will tell you, are thrilled with the slight<br>expansion, approved of<br>almost immediately<br>and the naturalization of plant life has nicely begun<br>its own<br>settle in<br>areas around the pond booming<br>the feverfew a beautiful <br>blooming <br>bright white beside me<br>and<br>at least three new families <br>currently sharing spaces<br>the Robins, the Grackles and the Starlings all seem to be<br>cordially taking turns, as well as sharing <br>sometimes<br>together<br>splashes at the bird bath<br>often times, in these early stages<br>it takes a minute to decipher<br>just who<br>belongs to<br>who<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>the tiny chickadees are the dearest little tikes<br>most easily identified, in teeny-tiny little peeps<br>and the small gang of chipmunks<br>seem not bothered in the least<br>by the addition of our new<br>and curious pup<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>this week I watched the documentary<br><strong><em>So Surreal: Behind the Masks<\/em><\/strong><br><em>the untold story of the ceremonial masks of the Yup\u2019ik people (Alaska)<br>and the Kwakwaka\u2019wakw people (Northwest Coast) and the profound impact<br>of these masks on the Surrealists<br>one of the most iconic art movements of all time<\/em><br>not at all surprised but again, completely baffled<br>by<br>appropriation<br>and the gall of people who will take things as their own<br>because they can<br>and then simply for monetary value<br>some<br>who will continue to refuse to acknowledge<br>or to return<br>things <br>they DO<br>NOT<br>OWN<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>awareness&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>the air is heavy today,<br>as I stand in the quiet of my garden<br>gazing up<br>thinking through thoughts<br>the cruelty of two beautiful hearts that I know<br>both, dealing courageously <br>with health<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>the sky above mostly overcast, but ever so slightly<br>beginning to<br>brighten<br>come to notice the very softest blue-grey<br>and in the cotton-y fluff<br>a blanket of clouds<br>looks much like, a masterful work of art<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>May you be well, my friends<br>May you be safe, May you<br>be<br>safe<br>and at ease<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>May you find comfort and peace<br>arms to hold you<br>and people who care <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And in the clouds<br>all love and kindness to surround you \u2665<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This morning early,I take a deep breath in, as I standgazing at the glistening clear waterof the big pondnow pretty much, fully restoredeach time I stand hereit soothes me sosix small lily pads have made it tothe surfaceI keep a&hellip;
