This morning early,
I take a deep breath in, as I stand
gazing at the glistening clear water
of the big pond
now pretty much, fully restored
each time I stand here
it soothes me so
six small lily pads have made it to
the surface
I keep a close eye, wishfully waiting
on a flower
I come each day to watch, to
witness
easily thousands of tadpoles inhabit
and fish, of course
I watch the lily pads slowly expanding and
wait as well for the first sight of
dragonfly larvae
so happy to have the pond thriving again
it brings so much life back
to
the garden
but also a calm, a certain quiet
a stillness
the water, like glass, has one watch closely
almost bated breath
notice each slight
ripple of movement
it\u2019s a
decompression of sorts,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the toads, I will tell you, are thrilled with the slight
expansion, approved of
almost immediately
and the naturalization of plant life has nicely begun
its own
settle in
areas around the pond booming
the feverfew a beautiful
blooming
bright white beside me
and
at least three new families
currently sharing spaces
the Robins, the Grackles and the Starlings all seem to be
cordially taking turns, as well as sharing
sometimes
together
splashes at the bird bath
often times, in these early stages
it takes a minute to decipher
just who
belongs to
who<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the tiny chickadees are the dearest little tikes
most easily identified, in teeny-tiny little peeps
and the small gang of chipmunks
seem not bothered in the least
by the addition of our new
and curious pup<\/p>\n\n\n\n

a blanket of clouds
looks much like, a masterful work of art<\/p>\n\n\n\n
