If I was to begin with
nothing much to tell you\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

it\u2019s the season of my husband working lots
(there\u2019s a few)
and the nature of the business he\u2019s in
we\u2019ve never had weekends like
people
do
so, we\u2019re not off adventuring or
weekending
one night a week we get to have dinner together,
if I\u2019m really lucky
two<\/p>\n\n\n\n

it may be true, that sometimes
I think of loving my husband most
when he is not
here
when I come in from work
exhausted
and could use the comfort of
his arms
or
simple conversation<\/p>\n\n\n\n

no frustrations can spill out
on him
no over-tired slights
are
issued
instead I think about, how much I miss him
and ways to say
I love you<\/p>\n\n\n\n

of course we\u2019ve been doing this
together
for thirty-three years
so it\u2019s a schedule we\u2019re used to
this is
just
us<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the very nature of my garden
is not something I ever feel the need
to escape from
or the wish to
get away
I am nourished by the sanctuary we’ve
built
and the reader might know by now,
I\u2019m kind of happy
being
here<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the adventure comes, in the every day
astonishments
of life <\/p>\n\n\n\n

this morning, the obedient plant flowers
are full of activity
bees aplenty, a great yellow swallowtail
and so many monarchs
it\u2019s incredible
nights have been a bit cooler this week
so the sunshine this morning is
most welcome
our little green frog is out sunning on a rock
I still haven\u2019t done anything about replacing my camera
but I try to take a couple of shots
that don\u2019t really do these lovelies justice
as to their beauty,
so again, you\u2019ll just have to take my word for it<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monday this week began, with the sudden rush
of anxiety
just as I am about to leave for work
a few known causes,
one
as simple as a group lunch planned
felt as if I had somehow stirred up
an ant colony
on
the inside
I then tripped on the dog bed on the way out
and got my backpack caught
on the gate
so I stopped for a minute, put my hand on my heart
took a breath
and said to myself, out loud
You
are ok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You’re going to be ok

it\u2019s been a thinking, thinking, thinking
\u2018release your jaw\u2019
kind of week
so far<\/p>\n\n\n\n

my husband has a lesson this morning
then before long,
he needs to head off to his other job
this however brief
half hour –
hour
in the garden
together

with the birds
and the
bees
watching butterflies<\/p>\n\n\n\n

blue skies,
sunshine
him
harvesting tomatoes
dogs at my feet<\/p>\n\n\n\n

is sometimes
just about

everything I need \u00a0\u2665<\/p>\n\n\n\n
