well then,
I have just finished a fantastic read
a beautiful gathering of correspondence
between six sisters, spanning the twentieth century<\/p>\n\n\n\n
months long
I have happily wandered along
in slow
snippets
with these wonderful witty, eccentric, women
most enjoying every step
contrary to what one might think
knowing how very much I do
love
to read
quite often, I don\u2019t have as much time
as I would like
because of work, and family
holiday seasons and such
depths of despair and all that
life in general really<\/p>\n\n\n\n
or possibly I just didn\u2019t feel I\u2019d be ready
to let them
go<\/p>\n\n\n\n
as it was\u2026 finishing that is,
I absolutely adored it all, and them<\/p>\n\n\n\n
most recently for us, over Christmas
my husband\u2019s Uncle died
Uncle Bill was a lovely, lovely man
sweet, funny and
kind
he seemed to me, a very gentle kind of spirit
always interested in what you
might have to say<\/p>\n\n\n\n
when our oldest son, had left to university
the first away from home
Uncle Bill and Aunt Ruth were such lovely
first contacts to our son, and frequently they
had dinners together
most enjoyed
where our son, was highly entertained
by the great humour and jovial character
of this dear man<\/p>\n\n\n\n
forever holding a very special place
in our hearts
and we all continually smile, holding fond thoughts
of Uncle Bill
such a blessing to know<\/p>\n\n\n\n
savouring now as we are,
the last of the very full, but never the less
wonderfully relaxing days of Christmas and
New Year\u2019s with our own
immediate family<\/p>\n\n\n\n
this morning I had a thought to
Christmas mornings when first married
my father-in-law making breakfast and the most delicious
poached eggs on English muffin
I ask my husband, if he remembers this
(as I don\u2019t suppose it was often my father-in-law was in the kitchen)
but\u2026 he doesn\u2019t seem to<\/p>\n\n\n\n
after some difficult years and a somewhat
contentious relationship with him
gone now,
fifteen years
it is nice, I think
to have memories pop-up
quite lovely in
nature<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in our current world, seemingly driven
by loud opinions and the pushing of
Hatfield and McCoy style
hard driving
gaping, insurmountable
divides
it\u2019s good sometimes to keep in mind
the wider vision of
those things
in
each other<\/p>\n\n\n\n
to be
cherished \u00a0\u2665<\/p>\n\n\n\n
