It has become a kind of tradition
in our home
on New Year\u2019s Eve (as my husband was usually working)
ketchup chips, cheezies, watch the movie
Valentine\u2019s Day
and we,
my daughter or daughters (depending on who\u2019s home)
and I
we collage
a beginning of the year, vision board sort of thing
I think it\u2019s supposed be
but I, really
just like to collage
often it will happen, that I collect my bits
and pieces, but get interrupted
and don\u2019t finish<\/p>\n\n\n\n
this year, however
in efforts to do things differently
and thoughts of pulling oneself up
out of the \u2013 often present
dol-
drums
combined by a rather unwelcome
extra bit of\u2026 fluffiness, (as my friend
Winnie-the-pooh might say)
that has me, cursing at mirrors, when I pass
as well as, some dreary wintery weather
bitterly cold
rare good news of the world
and an end of the month kind of thing
for me
then, finding myself with a few extra days off
from work,
I commit to spending them, at least
in part
as
I
wish<\/p>\n\n\n\n
at my birthday in November
a very lovely friend gifted me
a beautiful book,
gorgeously dressed
in a cover that she has sewn
for writing, or
journaling
and
such
in mid-December while treasure hunting, I found
a set of stickers, the months of the year
and pertinent things
on each page<\/p>\n\n\n\n
already what I had in mind
was just
this<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and yesterday,
I set my intention to making my
start<\/p>\n\n\n\n
at present I am reading a really good book
but one that has me at times
barely suppressing a white hot
rage
(more to come, I\u2019m sure)
add to this, the ongoing
battery of a maniacal madman
and his bevy of bootlickers
rabidly running roughshod over
any and all
of
human decency<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and a few friends,
currently in need
of mercy<\/p>\n\n\n\n
this then, today
is how I choose to begin
again
my version of peaceful protest<\/p>\n\n\n\n
by easing the mind
of furious thoughts
and feeding instead the
heart
something
that speaks to me<\/p>\n\n\n\n
of
beautiful things \u2665<\/p>\n\n\n\n
