This morning begins kind of dull
in colour only
the skies don\u2019t hold any particular shade
today
spring temperatures having once again taken a
dip
and showers remain kind of
imminent
April 1st, and so I suppose
the flowers and I are
kind of
expecting it<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I come with coffee, to my chair
by the window
join my love, who is already steadily working away
I sit, tucking one foot under me
slip
just
one slipper
on the foot that rests on the footstool
add a pillow to my lap, then my book
or the dog… depending on who gets there
first<\/p>\n\n\n\n
kind of my favourite time of day
the morning read, with coffee
currently I am completely loving a wonderful book
fiction this time… (doesn\u2019t happen often)
I stumbled at first, when coming upon the words \u201cair-con\u201d
in the early pages
this new slang, stuck like a thorn in my paw
like teeth on a fork
like a shovel on cement
Why????<\/p>\n\n\n\n
twice now I have come across this quite unnecessary
abbreviation of these words in a book, that irks me to no end
as I say, I tend to read a lot of non-fiction
so words don\u2019t seem to oddly get themselves
hacked up on the chopping block
air-con is not a word, or proper term
what can be so hard about writing the word conditioning
I do not understand<\/p>\n\n\n\n
is this some kind of attempt at hip slang?
words for me, language and its usage
are kind of
sacred
and this is where I will easily quit a book and just
move on
or have I just revealed my curmudgeonly self
shaking my fist in the air (ha!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
fortunately for me, after a bit of a rant,
I have continued with my book
and although not yet finished, I am enjoying it
immensely<\/p>\n\n\n\n
lesson being, I suppose
not everything deserves our current obsession with
outrage
and who am I to say, anyway<\/p>\n\n\n\n
sometimes, it just requires
my own little rant
and then<\/p>\n\n\n\n
move on
to something much
lovelier<\/p>\n\n\n\n
