\nand comforting, always

open shelves, built by my husband
\ncrowded with spices and herbs
\nmixing bowls and measuring cups
\nteapots, egg cups and fancy pickle forks
\nsigns of a beautiful life<\/p>\n
and then there is you
\nI can just see an elbow,
\na bicep
\na shoulder
\nblack t-shirt
\neven this is enough
\nmy heart races
\nand in the world
\nthis is one of my favourite views …<\/p>\n

\nof staying open
\nto the open-ness
\nof Love<\/p>\n
to the practice of seeing

\nsigns of serene beauty
\nwhen it sneaks in
\nor waits patiently

to the practice of feeling
\nat times
\nsalty and sour
\nsoft and simpering
\nsacred and sensuous
\nreal<\/p>\n
to the practice of being
\ngently
\nforgiving
\nof myself
\nto myself
\nfor
\nmyself<\/p>\n
to the practice of acceptance
\nto accepting a Love
\nthat surrounds
\nbut also
\nto the dull echos of family
\nestrangements
\nnot of my choosing
\nyet
\njust as they are
\nnot of my control<\/p>\n
to the practice of kindness
\ntowards others
\ntowards myself
\ntowards
\nthe world
\nbelieving wholly
\nthat what this world needs
\nis just a little more Kindness,
\nOpening
\nSeeing
\nFeeling
\nBeing
\nForgiving
\nAccepting
\nLoving
\nand yes,
\nPracticing
