Two things I read today, something from
Kris Kristofferson which actually,
as happens
came via Rosanne Cash
where she quoted a mantra of Kris\u2019

\u201c<\/em>Do better. Be bigger. Speak truth. Don\u2019t let the bastards get you down.
Write about it.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

and in something completely separate
where Kate Bowler talking about animals
said this,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Humans aren\u2019t the only species with complicated family dynamics.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

both of these quotes spoke to me today
like the small slips of paper
from a
fortune cookie
once cracked <\/p>\n\n\n\n

open<\/p>\n\n\n\n

as once again the flow of life
becomes a little
murky
in spots
where concerns for my Mother\u2019s health and
well being
somewhat remotely
churn rather ungraciously, wreaking havoc
with my nervous system<\/p>\n\n\n\n

where quite unnecessary vindictive and petty
complications
try their utmost best
to draw one<\/p>\n\n\n\n

under<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and I
instead, look for ways of maintaining
my
peace<\/p>\n\n\n\n

this for me always begins by reaffirming
for myself
that I am
love<\/p>\n\n\n\n

in all realness that should come as number two, I suppose
where the true number one will be
a complete unleashing of frustrations and
disbelief
as to how we got here
again<\/p>\n\n\n\n

more quietly I
seek counsel from those I hold dear
some here in the flesh, and some
more a part of me in spirit
and just as vital<\/p>\n\n\n\n

in ways to proceed<\/p>\n\n\n\n

lessons, you see in how to remain
peaceful, loving and
kind
to those in need
without the wish to defend against
detractors<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I take long slow inhales of breath
and fill my lungs

I allow for long slow release
remind myself to
lower my shoulders
un-clench
my
jaw<\/p>\n\n\n\n

breathe slow…
and
deep<\/p>\n\n\n\n

keep my eyes open
for signs of
love<\/p>\n\n\n\n

deescalate inside warriors
whose job it is to
protect
allow the noise, inner chatter
and hand-crafted bits of armour
cardboard, paper and glue
to simply
fall
away<\/p>\n\n\n\n

tune in
to the songs of the
birds<\/p>\n\n\n\n

then the sound of my own heart
comes through
instead

simply
loving, peaceful
and kind<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am love \u2665<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n
