waking up to rain showers
\nscurrying in the window
\ntapping their way across the sill
\nto jumping and splashing along the floor<\/p>\n
can’t seem to concentrate on my book<\/p>\n
it feels like a transitioning kind of day
\nthere has been much sadness weighing us down
\nair feels thick, when grief is around
\nbut this is not our place to stay<\/p>\n
how to move gracefully
\nthrough
\nthe echos of loss
\nthat still linger<\/p>\n
let’s take a walk<\/p>\n
above
\nthe sky appears grey and cloudy
\nfinding my spot
\nI close my eyes, and smile at the sky
\nbreathing in the fresh air of a new day
\na new month
\nfeel the breeze washing over my skin
\nbreathing in deep
\nsmile wide across my face
\nheart open
\nlungs fill
\nwhen i open my eyes
\nthe sky is blue and bright
\nthe clouds are large cottony billows
\nand the sun
\nshines
\non me<\/p>\n
much of the garden appears to bend in gratitude
\nfor the brief blessings of rain
\npetals have laid down
\nin adornment
\nthe wind teases
\ngathering everyone up
\nto dance<\/p>\n
on their new legs
\nand new found freedom
\nthe toads have left the pond
\nit suddenly feels a bit empty
\nwithout so much activity to check up on
\nbut the fish still gather to greet me
\nand I am happy to see just how big the snails are growing
\na fresh new lily is beaming
\nbrightly
\nand soon
\nso am I<\/p>\n
the sun shines down on the faces of the daisies
\nlighting them in glory
\nthere are roses blossoming and there are roses fading
\nboth in beauty
\nthe currant bushes are heavy with fruit
\nabundant and delicious, this year’s crop
\nI graciously share my bounty with the birds,
\nor perhaps it is they
\nwho are sharing with me<\/p>\n
wandering
\nthe greyness closes in again
\nreminding me
\nthat grief is long and lasting
\nand the feeling of loss
\nand pain for another’s heartache
\nthat doesn’t really go away
\nrather it floats over, closes in and hangs us low
\nmuch like the clouds<\/p>\n
but also that the light
\nthat shines is still there
\nwaiting
\nwarming
\nglowing<\/p>\n
beckoning<\/p>\n
much like the sun
\nand Love<\/p>\n
and in this there is always Gratitude
\nbecause
\nthere is Love<\/p>\n
in an open heart
\nin things of beauty
\nin life
\nin all it’s coming
\nand going<\/p>\n
as
\nit does
\ncome
\nand
\nit does
\ngo<\/p>\n
just as the sailing of clouds<\/p>\n
and your hand in mine<\/p>\n
for today,
