All are most welcome, as long as they are willing to share. Another little grey has perched on the bench with an early fallen apple from the apple tree. A flutter of activity and everyone scurries off with treasure.
You will find, if you are walking with me here, or even just standing quite still to watch, that when this joy first swells, I do greet each one out loud, as I channel my inner Snow White, and I believe we are equally happy to see each other.
There is also a greeting to my flowers, even if I have just been to see them yesterday. They still can make me smile by blessing me with their beauty and I thank them for this. I commiserate with my white rose, that the Japanese beetles just can’t seem to resist nestling in to her beautiful blossoms, and I try to help her out by flicking them off. I look for anyone new who may have popped up without my knowing, and make sure to encourage the self-seeders to keep up the good work! I stop to wonder if the stump knows just how generously this new fungus is beautifying his side.
I bid fond farewell to the flowers and plants who are spent, or laying low, as I know, there time does come.
Until we meet again, I say, with a gracious nod of my head.
A great disruption of thunder, soon echos through the sky, and the Hawk is certain everyone should know that probably rain is eminent . This rumble makes me smile too, even as the sky begins to darken. Such a wondrous thundrous sound! Under the roof of the patio, I wait for the dancing pitter-patter of little feet, as the rain drops begin.
In between rumbles the cicadas and crickets increase the volume of their songs. Then, a few little ‘gungs’ from the frog, and a distant call from the Blues and it seems everyone is now taking shelter somewhere, as the breeze gathers in.
The raindrops begin falling in increasing frequency, suddenly drowning out almost all other sounds.
As the splashing starts, I guess perhaps it is time for retreat! For another cup of tea, and a seat indoors, to enjoy the rain.
Such a lovely visit, won’t be spoiled by this,
stepping over the dogs,
and things left
undone..
I do hope you have brought with you a book … ♥

“Why don’t you come, and visit me here “..
