\nlater comes
\nmy love
\nwith coffee, \u00a0the paper,
\nand his book
\nperfectly timed
\nhis arrival
\nto refill my cup
\nseems
\nthere are days, now
\nwhen this
\nfeels like a rare
\ntreat<\/p>\n

what if
\nhe asks
\nand I start to talk
\nmuch about work
\nwhile he is quiet
\nthen returns to
\nhis reading
\nsoon, \u00a0he gets up to start
\nhis day of bustle
\nerrands, grass to be cut
\nthings to do
\nwhile I
\nsit
\ncontent to sink into
\nmy book
\nwhat if my plans
\nare really just to
\nrelish squandering time
\non playing catch up
\nin my world of social media
\nwhile
\nhe is antsy to snag my laptop
\nfor getting work done from home
\nbefore he readies himself
\nto leave
\nfor work
\nwhat if a perfectly lovely
\nday off
\nturns into a bit of
\nmiscommunication
\ncaught up in thoughts
\nand words
\nnot spoken
\nwhat if the thought bubbles that float
\nare of ‘women are crazy’
\nand ‘men just don’t listen!’
\nwhat if then
\nhe leaves for work
\nand I busy myself
\nwith the laundry
\nwhat if
\nthen…
\nI am left
\n… sinking<\/p>\n

and the clouds
\ncome
\nto cover the sky
\nblocking out
\nthe sun<\/p>\n

but I still know it’s there<\/p>\n

what if I stand
\nin my garden
\nand let the breeze
\nkiss my face
\nand the quietness
\nsoothe my
\nsoul
\nwhat if all the colours
\nof green
\nbegin to fill
\nmy heart
\nand the birds bring to me
\nmy smile
\nwhat if I think about
\nthat second cup of coffee
\nand maybe
\njust stay there …<\/p>\n

and
\nwhat if
\ntomorrow
\nwith a little loving kindness
\nwe both try
\nto do
\nbetter \u2665<\/p>\n

of course you know, this is purely hypothetical … \u00a0 as \u00a0.. we, my love and I, \u00a0are ‘always’ wine and roses! \u00a0\ud83d\ude09<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
