it feels not quite like an ache
\nrather more like a bubbling
\nmaybe it’s a
\ntwinkling of toes
\nat my
\ncentre<\/p>\n

the scattering of words
\nthat start to dance
\nin my head
\nand
\nit feels
\nin my heart<\/p>\n

the sky is a beautiful blue
\nwhen I step out this morning
\nthe sun is drawing me out
\nto fill myself
\nwith rays of light
\nI look up to see wispy clouds of white
\nsailing overhead
\nand the watching
\nmakes me unconsciously breathe
\ndeeply in and out
\nin great cleansing breaths
\nas I am swept along
\nmarveling at the vastness
\nstretching out
\nabove
\nthe trees<\/p>\n

open
\nlike sky \u2026.<\/p>\n

when I come in and return to my chair
\nthe sky turns almost instantly
\ngrey
\nsoon raindrops begin
\nto pelt the window
\nand I am filled with gratitude
\nthat I did not miss my chance
\nto breathe in
\nthat glorious blue<\/p>\n

and what about you
\ntoday
\nare you grey
\nor are you blue?<\/p>\n

what if today
\nI could take you away from all this
\nall the political wrangling
\nall the nasty\u2019s and despair
\nall your worry, \u00a0concerns
\nand wrongdoings<\/p>\n

what if today
\nI could greet you with
\na smile
\nand a kiss
\nto your cheek, to your forehead
\neven
\nto your lips
\nor to the palm of your hand
\nso that you
\ncould carry it with you
\nand
\nwe would embrace
\nwarmly wrapping each other
\nin a hug
\nholding on just there
\nuntil we were
\nsure
\nwe had touched
\neach other\u2019s
\nhearts
\nthen maybe
\nan extra bit of holding on
\nfor comfort
\njust
\nto be sure
\nwe were
\nthere<\/p>\n

what if I could offer you
\nthat little bit of light
\nthat you might be missing
\ntoday
\nthat brilliant ray
\nbreaking through the cloud
\nmaking you stop
\nand smile
\nand recognize the giving
