With Friday as my day off
a day to
sleep in
I instead choose to rise early
so that I can share the morning
and coffee
with my love
a busy time of year for my husband
teaching junior clinics and two golf tournaments
this week alone, as well as both of us working
sometimes opposing schedules
leaves little time
for
this
even though we were out one night this week
together
it was a social event
and we
were
social
so this morning, in gratitude
we sit
with our coffee
and though my book is on my lap
I don’t open it
instead we
sit here together
to catch up
on our days
intentional presence
soon enough he is preparing to leave
tee time awaits
he sticks his head round the corner
of the doorway and he says,
“let’s go outside…”
he grabs his golf club, and we walk the gardens
in sunshine
together
and together
we
walk
my walk
together
after,
he comes to kiss me good-bye
a few times
and then, on the last one
he lingers …
Acute
intentional presence
and this is precisely how
he does it
he wins my heart again and
again
intentionally
in small ways,
and
in every way
he IS my heart
and all that it contains
a
simple kind of Love
of small gestures
in very
grand fashion
