Tamara Willems

twinkle toes

drifting in like
enchanted confetti
somewhat unwelcome
is this visitor
yet beautifying
in it’s grace

weighing heavy on the branches
drawing everything in close

the scent of freshness
tingles the air
unseen toes
magically dancing across the pond
rippling the surface

in a symphony of silence
the dancers appear
toes to pavement
they pirouette in
and then just as quickly
seem to disappear

a chill in the air
hastens my attendance
of today’s performance

I find myself also,  now
drawing in
closing the door ..

I have borne witness
to her beauty
but it’s not time yet
for you to stay

wrapping myself in the comfort
of a sweater
pouring another cup of tea
I settle in
to warm my toes ♥
