to show our fear
instead of hiding ourselves
in shame
and disgrace
what if we did not seek
to destroy
to discredit
and distrust
what if instead
we chose
to recognize ourselves
in each other
our weaknesses
our strengths
our endearments
to see directly
into hearts
into hurts
into our own
imperfect mirrors
if we could honour our humanness
with a simple
I see you
and I feel that
too
with kindness
and with Love
perhaps we could strengthen each other
and honour each other
and bless each other
with a simple
smile
of recognition
‘you too …
I never knew’ ..
we are not perfect families
we are not perfect friends
spouses, partners
we are not perfect
people
we win
we lose
we fail, we stumble
we struggle
we triumph
we all have this moment
right now, all of us
and in it
we can choose
to be Love
to be Forgiveness
to be Kindness
to not hide our humanness
and we can continue to choose

in very small ways
every day, every minute
