A very dear friend of mine asked me if I could offer some words of comfort that she could share with a family member who had lost her Mother. how do we ever
find the courage
to say goodbye
even when we know
a time will come
when we too
must let go
of someone so dear
and we can’t possibly
fathom
a life
without
the empty spaces
the flood of tears
the feeling of loss
is so great
how can we possibly
go on
it is somehow,
with Grace
as not to linger long
in mourning
it is
with Love
as instead more to a celebration
of a life well lived
it is
with Honouring
the beauty of the life
we have shared
it is
with Gratitude
for all that you
have been to me
it is for all of the gifts
you have given
me
and for all that I will
continue
to receive
this is the legacy
of Love
to live on in someone’s
heart
after you have gone
to live on in the lives
of those
who love you
and will remember you always
this
yes this, is the nature of
Love
and what a gift you
have given me
this Love
and I will always
meet you here
in my heart
where you have always been
and will always
remain
so now
when I think of you
let it not be with sadness
but with the Joy that comes
in realizing
that you have just
blessed me
with a visit
