This past weekend again, we do something
brave
or
foolish
or I suppose, we
throw caution to the wind
take our chances on
love
that is to say,
we adopt a new puppy
on the way, many times we ask ourselves
is this a good idea
we two, the parents of four kids
two cats, two guinea pigs, two birds
and once again
two
dogs
amuse ourselves, asking
have we ever made smart, well thought out
decisions
instantly this tiny little love adds much
to our family
the week before last, early evening
two ladies from our local Horticultural Society
drop in to inquire
if they might add our garden to this year’s Garden Tours
having passed by our ‘freer landscaped’ front
a few times
they are thinking to add other options
to the idea of garden beauty
as is, our wildlife habitat
very much in favour of more
open-minded thinking
in the garden
my husband invites them in
to view the rest of our
forever
work in progress
restoration is nearly complete on the big pond
but not quite
and the giant wisteria having been cut down completely
in the fall
is just barely beginning
to
sprout
still, the two ladies are thrilled with everything they see
and the chatter comes rapid with excitement
mentions are made of, possibly
two hundred people coming through
and already I get the feeling
of
over
ex
po
sure
they leave us a week to decide
doesn’t take any time for me to know
just how very much I appreciate
my privacy
as well as, the sanctuary
of my space
with a sincere thank you for kindness
we decline the offer
today, out with the dogs
in the steady drizzle of a
rainy day
it feels as if the garden and I
have both breathed
a sigh
of
relief
there is a gentle peace
in trusting
sometimes
just what feels
right ♥
