a beautiful calm

there is a beautiful calm that comes with a holiday,  day
Good Friday as it is
coffee and a quiet read with my Love
listening to Julie Nesrallah’s soothing choices of classical music on CBC radio 2
sons home,  my nest once again full
so i begin my day
ruminating
in bliss

no shopping today
stores stay closed
no need to leave home
(well except for my husband as he still has to go to work)

I sit in quiet meditation
listening to the sounds of my family
familiar jokes, laughter
my husband busy in the kitchen
dog peacefully snoring in his chair

a lovely message from a very kind friend,  blesses my morning
makes my heart smile broadly
reminding me how fortunate I am
to have such a beautiful friend
in a very large world

as I am lovingly guided along
by Richard Wagner’s Parsifal
and the majesty ..  of this
the sound
of
ethereal beauty

the activity of the house
increases
pause for a kiss, and
my husband rushes out the door
daughters emerge
from lazing chambers

soothing strings are quickly overtaken
by louder beats
and competing choruses
the hills, I believe
are now alive ..

life awaits
my sons have both come home
bearing gifts
of bulging laundry bags
one of the little luxuries
of coming home
I guess

and I am more than happy
to oblige

but for the moment
still here
I sit
just looking
just listening
just
Loving

as
all of this

this is my
bliss ♥
