Tamara Willems

a scattering of seeds…

I could be perfectly content
to spend my days
wandering

 here

and scattering seeds
among the colours
of the earth

each delicate soft hue
and bold burst
of beauty
captures my
soul
and tickles
my fancy

every leaf
and tendril
vine
and sprout
delight me

each day
I spend some time
wandering my gardens
just to look
just to see
just to
breathe

my gardening style
is that of
reckless abandon

organized chaos
as my Love likes to call
it
and this ‘style’ allows me
many surprises

some things I have planted
some
just come
to me
and I am always
Grateful
to see their beautiful faces
when they
arrive

and if you would walk
with me
you would hear me greet them
each one

“Oh, Hello, I say
to each new arrival
I feel blessed
you are here”

I am equally cordial
to butterflies, and birds
bees and dragonflies
chipmunks and squirrels
toads, worms
and even spiders
(less so, I must confess
to Japanese beetles
as they are much too destructive
for my liking)

each lovely bit of green
I leave them all to their
free will
to ramble and reseed
to flower
and to fruit

here in my garden
we smile at the sun
and are thankful
for the rain
we offer each other only beauty
and kindness
spaces to stretch
and freedom
to share
your own colours
and there is always room
for more

we breathe deep
and we grow
we lovingly cultivate

compassionately
and passionately
together

wonderfully
wild and free
blosssoming
in the gracious beauty
of reckless abandon

and isn’t this reason to smile? ♥
