This morning, although I’m not just sure
I’m feeling great
my heart is full to overflowing with
gratitude
I can say, first of all
it is Sunday
and the first part of Sundays I do love
a day to just be
ease
easy like Sunday morning, I mean
they’ve written a song about it
Sunday evenings are a different story, where I might
get into a mild-to-major frenzy about the week ahead,
however, we won’t talk about that, let’s just stick with
my early disposition, shall we?
this Sunday morning starts just, I believe
as a Sunday morning should
the day awakening quiet
and slow
bird song in the garden
and a little bunny
while in the chair next to mine
not today my love, but my ‘other’
puppy love
snores
when I am a few chapters in to a new book
and fully immersed
I hear the back door open
and a voice… wondering if anyone is home
initial panic strikes, (obviously forgot my no trespassing sign)
it only takes a few seconds
to realize
it’s my son and his wife
now, always, always, always
any day, every day
I am happy to see any one of my kids
so absolutely there is that,
but after this little visit
I am filled to the brim, with how very grateful I am
for the gift
that is my lovely daughter-in-law
as a parent, you know
you always want
that your children will be happy
that life
will treat them kind
and as a Mother, you know
that your child or each
of your children
has
a very special heart
(as part of it comes… from your own)
for my son to have joined his life
to someone so
perfectly
matched
to him
fills me with enormous heartwarming joy
our dear Emily is
wildly intelligent, has a wicked, fine tuned
sense of humour
is quite remarkable in all ways
she is artistic, creative, confident, compassionate, courageous
and
kind
she is beautiful in every perfect sense
of the word
everything from the inside
out
and I will continue to be grateful
for just what she brings to our lives
in loving
our
son
anyway, that’s just what I’m thinking about today
and now I’ve said it out loud
because
I believe that’s
worth doing
so… how about you?
I hope you
have something or someone
to be extra, extra grateful for too
and maybe now
is just the right time
to say it
and always,
keep an eye
on
the
clouds ♥
