Tamara Willems

to the sailing of clouds…

waking up to rain showers
scurrying in the window
tapping their way across the sill
to jumping and splashing along the floor

can’t seem to concentrate on my book

it feels like a transitioning kind of day
there has been much sadness weighing us down
air feels thick, when grief is around
but this is not our place to stay

how to move gracefully
through
the echos of loss
that still linger

let’s take a walk

above
the sky appears grey and cloudy
finding my spot
I close my eyes, and smile at the sky
breathing in the fresh air of a new day
a new month
feel the breeze washing over my skin
breathing in deep
smile wide across my face
heart open
lungs fill
when i open my eyes
the sky is blue and bright
the clouds are large cottony billows
and the sun
shines
on me

much of the garden appears to bend in gratitude
for the brief blessings of rain
petals have laid down
in adornment
the wind teases
gathering everyone up
to dance

on their new legs
and new found freedom
the toads have left the pond
it suddenly feels a bit empty
without so much activity to check up on
but the fish still gather to greet me
and I am happy to see just how big the snails are growing
a fresh new lily is beaming
brightly
and soon
so am I

the sun shines down on the faces of the daisies
lighting them in glory
there are roses blossoming and there are roses fading
both in beauty
the currant bushes are heavy with fruit
abundant and delicious, this year’s crop
I graciously share my bounty with the birds,
or perhaps it is they
who are sharing with me

wandering
the greyness closes in again
reminding me
that grief is long and lasting
and the feeling of loss
and pain for another’s heartache
that doesn’t really go away
rather it floats over, closes in and hangs us low
much like the clouds

but also that the light
that shines is still there
waiting
warming
glowing

beckoning

much like the sun
and Love

and in this there is always Gratitude
because
there is Love

in an open heart
in things of beauty
in life
in all it’s coming
and going

as
it does
come
and
it does
go

just as the sailing of clouds

and your hand in mine

for today,
let’s just keep walking ♥
