Tamara Willems

to a whole…

This morning,
I am wondering how you are doing
in the sort of
in-between of things

sometimes the hardest part
when the weight of it all
sets in
to
a sandy bottom
where complete body exhaustion
settles over
and the brain, knowing of a grace-filled
peace
instead feels kind of
fog

Love
caring
peace
grief
guilt
relief
release

breathe in, breathe out

the why’s having been exhausted
the this and the here’s
taking you more gently by the hand
arm around tired shoulders

I’m thinking of a surgeon performing
open-heart
reaching in and commencing
massage
with a warm hand
gently, but vigorously a squeeze and a
squish
bringing colour back in
and blood to
flowing
feel once again that life affirming
beat
a centering

Love is our strength and our knowing

Love is our how
and our
why

Love is what keeps us here
Love is what grounds us, what
humbles us
and yes,
even
what breaks us

Love is what tethers us
to each other
and
to ourselves

and when we lean in to love
it lets us fall apart, again and again

while gently patching
each
tiny
piece

to a whole ♥

Each time we’re there for each other, we stitch another thread
that holds the universe together.  ~ Mark Nepo
