wishful pockets

I have a wish
to always have pockets

such a wonderful thing
this
pocket-ing
to perfectly fit
one’s hand
in
and all the treasures
to behold

in my pocket,  I would keep
the glorious scent
of an apple blossom
in spring
the smoothest little green piece of glass
whose edges have been gently
worn away
a delightful little blue button
holding tight to a memory
with a little bit of thread

the harmonious hum of the buzzing bee
and the loveliest little butterfly
that flutters above my head
this too ,
I would keep in there
for delight

a bit of wonder
a bit of magic
maybe a question or two

a rainbow, a snowflake
a tiny drop of
dew

perhaps a dandelion
for wishes
and a clover
for luck
a beautiful little violet
a pansy
and a daisy too

a little bit of music
a few lines of verse
and something soft and
yellow

of course a bit of sunshine
and a fluffy cloud or two
a flat stone for skipping
and some sidewalk chalk

bubbles for blowing
and seeds for scattering
and scents
of
spicy and sweet

and smiles

and in my pocket
I would keep
my heart
so as I will always know
just where to find it

and in my pocket
I would keep
the whole wide world
of wonder
and treasure

knowing that it is mine to hold
and to gather
and to share

but sometimes
keeping all of this
just to myself

in my sly
little pocket
of
delight ♥
